I’m Sadie Harper, founder of Southern Ambition LLC. Growing up outside Chicago made me a lifelong Bears fan, but I moved to Raleigh to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (focusing on behavior and cognition) from Meredith College. Afterward, I spent five years as a corporate paralegal, then moved to high-end fashion in brick-and-mortar boutiques as a visual merchandiser.
Following this, I pursued a Master of Science in Merchandising and Business Development from Kansas State. An entrepreneur at heart, I then launched Southern Ambition, specializing in content strategy, copywriting, ghostwriting, and manuscript editing. I’m proud and humbled to have worked with numerous local small businesses, discussing topics from business ownership to networking, branding, and revenue growth. I now have a team of writers who, together, serve Southern Ambition clients with providing tailored, professional content.
An independent and creative free spirit, I am also a self-proclaimed and unabashed over-achiever: full-time single mom to three children while also running two businesses and pursuing my personal dreams and career passions.
My expertise as a solopreneur for the past twelve years gives me a unique perspective of the professional world on multiple levels, in addition to deep and long-standing connections to the North Raleigh and Triangle areas. On top of it all, I subcontract for a friend’s company writing superior resumes and also volunteer at Meredith as a guest lecturer and mock interviewer, counseling undergraduate students on resume reviews, career readiness, and their small business ideas.
Professional goals include getting my MBTI certification to inform business owners on how to leverage personality in career or business success.
